Cayla and Taryn play tourist

Words: Once again I took my daughter to Waikiki for some wave action. This time, we brought along her friend Cayla. They had more fun together bodyboarding, bodysurfing and just talking story in the water.

But at least I got them to agree to go surfing with me. Of course, while playing in the shorebreak, I had the misfortune of pulling my hamstring slightly while skimming on my bodyboard.

I rented a 12' softtop and took them out to Canoes. We got three really good ones, all three of us riding at the same time pretty far in.

Afterwards, I paddled out on my own. I was a bit handicapped by the hamstring, but toughed it out.

I struck up a conversation with this lady. She was admiring the fact that I brought out my "family" out surfing with me. I was pretty smug and stoked that people noticed. I tried catching one all the way in, but my stupid hamstring didn't allow me to turn the 12' board. Oh well, still was so stoked.
